Widnes Vikings winger Patrick Ah Van has been ruled out for up to three months with a broken arm.
The winger, 29, sustained the injury after diving to score during his side’s 40-12 victory over Catalans Dragons on Sunday.
His coach Denis Betts seemed downbeat when addressing the media about the injury to his player. He said: “It’s incredibly unfortunate that he has broken his arm. It’s something you cant account for, and it was just a clash between two players.”
Widnes will have to do without him when they travel to last seasons league leaders Castleford Tigers on Sunday.
