Widnes Vikings hooker Jordan Johnstone has joined Championship side London Broncos on loan for a month.
Johnstone, 20, joins the Broncos having made 19 appearances for the Vikings last season as injuries took their toll on the squad.
Coach Denis Betts said it is important that Johnstone gets game time. “We have a number of options at the moment in his position, so this is a great opportunity for him to spend time in a good side and a good competition.” He added.
The hooker becomes the fourth player in recent years to spend time in the capital after Tom Gilmore, Joe Mellor and Sam Wilde. Johnstone said he sought advice from his teammates before making his decision.
He joins a London Broncos side who have finished 2nd in consecutive Championship seasons, although they have largely failed to make an impact when it gets to the Super 8 stage.
