Castleford Tigers have sacked Fullback Zak Hardaker after failing a drugs test prior to last years Grand Final.
The ex Leeds man was an integral part of the Castleford team that won the League Leaders Shield and then starred in their 23-22 semi final win against St Helens.
Hardaker tested positive for cocaine after their Super 8s win against the Rhinos and the club were only made aware of this in the days prior to the Grand Final, which they lost.
It seemed the writing was on the wall early for the England international when he wasn’t given a squad number by Daryl Powell for this season.
