Super League Sunday Round Up: Saints and Trinity maintain winning starts

In a weekend dominated by the weather, rugby league finally came back today as joint leaders St Helens and Wakefield Trinity extended their unbeaten starts to the season with wins against Salford Red Devils and Huddersfield Giants respectively.

Trinity won 22-4 against the Giants thanks to two tries from Ben Jones-Bishop as well as a try for Mason Caton-Brown and a couple of penalties from Liam Finn won the game for Trinity. A solitary Lee Gaskell try was all Huddersfield had in response.

As for St Helens, they dominated Salford, winning 34-2. Two tries for Ben Barba as well as tries for Tommy Makinson, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Jonny Lomax and Luke Thompson completed the scoring for the Saints. A solitary penalty from Gareth O’Brien, who was once spent four months on loan at Saints, temporarily put Salford ahead, but it was one way traffic from there.
