Hirst signs new Wakefield contract

Wakefield Trinity prop Keegan Hirst has signed a new deal at the club, keeping him there until the end of next year.

The forward joined the club in 2017 from Batley Bulldogs after playing 105 games over two spells with the club.

In 2015, the 30-year-old became the first British professional rugby league player to come out as gay, confirming it in the Sunday Mirror.

Hirst said: “It was a huge gamble for both me and the club to make the move to Super League, but I am thoroughly enjoying playing for Wakefield.”
