Newcastle Thunder claimed a win in their first game of the season as they beat London Skolars away from home.

Two tries for Lewis Young as well as tries for Liam McAvoy, Mo Agoro, Tom Shaw, who also added ten goals, Tee Ritson, Ben Pointer, Aaron Ollett, Ryan Lloyd and Tuoyo Egodo completed the big win for the Thunder.

Callum Field and Craig Mullen contributed a try and a goal each and Sam Nash added another try but it wasn’t enough for the Skolars, who struggled to compete with the Thunder.

Newcastle are in Challenge Cup action next week as they travel to Doncaster next Friday whilst the Skolars have the week off after they were knocked out of the cup in the early rounds.
