Gill to step down at Castleford

Castleford Tigers CEO has confirmed he will step down from the role at the end of May.

Gill took on the role in 2013 and has overseen the most successful period in the clubs recent history which saw a League Leaders Shield and reached the Super League Grand Final in 2017 and reached a Challenge Cup Final in 2014.

In what is becoming a bit of a boardroom shuffle, Sky Sports pundit Jon Wells will join the club as Director of Rugby. Wells, who often operates the touchscreen with Brian Carney, will join as Director of Rugby whilst carrying on his job at Sky.

Club Managing Director Mark Grattan will also step aside.

Chairman Ian Fulton has said he has made the move so Daryl Powell can focus on the job at hand of helping them go one further than last season and win a trophy.
