Two rearranged Challenge Cup ties took place tonight between Featherstone Rovers and North Wales Crusaders and then Halifax and Oldham.
The latter saw Oldham go to Halifax and claim a convincing 27-6 victory.
Two tries from Ben West plus individual efforts from Danny Langtree and Paul Crook as well as a drop goal from Dave Hewitt won the game for the League One side.
Ben Heaton’s solitary try was all Halifax could respond with.
Oldham now have a dream tie when they travel to Hull KR in the fifth round. In the meantime, they travel to North Wales Crusaders on Sunday.
As for Halifax, it was a rested team and it ended up backfiring on them. They will hope it was worth it when they travel to Toulouse on Saturday.
While Fax struggled, Featherstone Rovers had a walk in the park against North Wales Crusaders as they ran out 68-6 winners.
A hat trick for Luke Briscoe, two tries from Keal Carlile, Matty Wildie and Josh Hardcastle and tries from Brad Knowles, Luke Cooper, John Davies and Tom Holmes won the game comfortably for the Championship side.
Tommy Johnson scored a consolation score for the Crusaders.
Featherstone can now look forward to a fifth round tie against Doncaster. In the meantime, they face Batley Bulldogs away from home on Sunday.
As for the Crusaders, they can now focus on League One and can bounce back when they welcome Oldham on Sunday.
