NCL Division Two: Stanningley and East Leeds win big


East Leeds had the biggest win of the week in NCL Division Two as they beat Hull Dockers 44-10.

Two tries from James Duckworth and further tries from Jack Norfolk, Luke Tomlinson, David Nurse, Joe Isotta and John Carter earned the big win for the Leeds side.

The Dockers replied with tries from Steven Milne and Tom Platt, but they fall to defeat.

Stanningley also won big as they beat Drighlington 34-4 at home.

Two tries each for Jack Smith and Daniel Barcoe and further tries from Benjamin Selby and Stephen Welton won the game for the Leeds based side.

Daniel Sanderson responded for Drighlington, but they fall well short.

Also, West Bowling claimed a big win in a thriller to Cumbrian side Askam 34-26.

Elsewhere, Dewsbury Moor Maroons claimed a good win at home to Crosfields.

Two tries for Tobias Richardson and additional efforts from Luke Adamson and Thomas Harrington won the game for the West Yorkshire side.

Crosfields responded with tries from John Whittaker, Nathan Taylor and Jordan Williams, but the Warrington side fell just short.

In a local derby, Wigan St Judes used their home advantage to beat rivals Leigh East 24-14.

They won thanks to tries from Ashley Marshall, Barry Rothwell, David Fagan, Nathan Bevan and Gary McMahon, who also added a goal.

East responded through tries from Daniel Griffiths and Joshua Swift, but they couldn’t earn the local bragging rights.

Lastly, Hunslet Warriors claimed a close win over Greater Manchester side Saddleworth Rangers.

They won thanks to tries from Gareth Croft and Liam Brown.
