NCL Division Three: Beverley and Celtic win big


Beverley continue to go from strength to strength in the NCL after recording a 68-8 victory over the Salford City Roosters.

Four tries for Lewis Poskett, two tries for Joshua Poskett and Alex Starling as well as further tries from Sam Brown, Lewis Straw and Billy Riby won the game for Scott Taylor’s side.

Alex Walmsley’s old club Dewsbury Celtic also won big as they beat Waterhead Warriors 48-0 at home.

Four tries for Paul Foulstone, who also added six goals, two tries for Liam Walmsley and further efforts from Anthony Dunford, George Senior and Danny Lee won the game for the West Yorkshire side.

In Cumbria, Barrow Island recorded a home victory with a 32-10 victory over Warrington side Woolston Rovers.

Two tries from Benjamin Garner and Blain Marwood and individual tries from Dan White and Ian Irvine won the game for the Cumbrian side.

The Rovers responded through Wil Maudsley and Luke Walker, but they fall to defeat in their long trip up.

St Helens side Clock Face Miners also kept up their good start to the season with a hard fought 32-28 victory over Oldham St Annes.

Lastly, Millom made the journey east to Gateshead Storm and came away with the victory in a close game 24-18.

Two tries from Dane Kelly and further efforts from Ethan Kelly and Hanley Dawson won the game for the Cumbrian team.

Gateshead responded with tries from Michael Mitchell and Andrew Morris, but they fall short and remain winless this season.
