Huddersfield Giants have signed Halifax forward Chester Butler from 2020.

Butler is a versatile player who can play in either the second row, or at centre.

The Giants will hope Butler can be a replacement for the out of contract Alex Mellor. He has yet to commit his future to the club for 2020.

The signing means Butler will be playing full time rugby league for the first time in his career.

He will also sign a three year deal.
