Keighley Cougars have sacked Head Coach Craig Lingard after two years in charge at the club.

It has been a difficult season for the Cougars as they started with a 12 point deduction, something which they have nearly overturned.

Had it not been for the deduction, they would lie in third place in League One, but as it is, they lie bottom of the table on -1 points.

Lingard’s last game was a 40-12 defeat to Newcastle Thunder last week, which was just their second defeat of the season.

Assistant Coach Rhys Lovegrove and the clubs Head of Strength and Conditioning Paul Royston will take temporary charge until a full time appointment is made.
