Halifax have appointed former player Simon Grix as their new Head Coach on a two year contract.

Grix has enjoyed a successful time as interim coach with four straight victories to his name. Including a 21-14 win over Bradford Bulls at the Summer Bash.

He will hope to continue his sides great run of form as they travel to Batley Bulldogs on Sunday.

His crowning moment could come when his side travel to face Bradford a week later in the Challenge Cup, as the winner of that game will become the first Championship side to be in the semi finals since 2006.

Grix has had a glittering career, spent mainly with Warrington Wolves, where he was part of three Challenge Cup winning sides, although he unluckily missed out on each final because of injuries.
