Featherstone Lions beat Normanton Knights in a local derby to go up to third in NCL Division One.

The game was rearranged so it wouldn’t clash with Featherstone Rovers’ game at the Summer Bash against York City Knights.

It means the Lions go above Wigan St Patricks, Milford and Skirlaugh as the race for the playoff places gets even tighter.

The Knights, who were relegated from the Premier Division last year, have lost ground in the race for the playoffs and could have gone into the playoff positions with a win.

Both have a week off now for the bank holiday before Featherstone host Oulton Raiders and Normanton travel to Stanningley. Both matches are on 1st June at 2.30pm.
