Two Barrow players face lengthy bans

Barrow Raiders could be without two of their stars for a substantial period of time after being referred to the Match Review Panel.

Lewis Charnock and Jono Smith both have to answer Grade F and Grade D charges respectively after their game against Sheffield Eagles at the Summer Bash.

Charnock was cited after a tackle on James Glover in the first minute of their 30-18 defeat against the Eagles. He could be facing up to a six match ban.

Smith on the other hand, was cited for his tackle on Matt James in the 22nd minute. Smith was placed on report and the panel have seen it fit to charge him and bring him in. He could be facing up to a four match ban for his tackle.

Both Sheffield players needed to leave the field after being on the receiving end of these tackles.

Elsewhere, Anthony Thackeray of Sheffield Eagles has avoided a ban after being charged with a Grade A offence of disputing a decision in the same game.
