Toulouse thrashed Leigh Centurions 44-16 today to close the gap at the top of the Championship to six points.
Leigh were on the board first with a penalty from Martyn Ridyard, but tries from James Bell and Paul Marcon put the French side in control at the break.
Early second half tries from Constantine Mika and Mathieu Jussaume put the French side out of sight. Ridyard then added a try but three tries in five minutes from Toulouse ended any hope of a Leigh fight back.
Jussaume and Marcon got their second tries and there was also a try for Paterika Vaivai. A later try from Stanislas Robin sealed the game.
The Centurions did pull another two tries back through Ryan Brierley and Iain Thornley, but they couldn’t build on that victory at the Summer Bash.
Toulouse will now have a week off before they travel to York City Knights on 8th June.
The Centurions also have a week off before they welcome Halifax to Leigh Sports Village a day later.
