Charnock banned for eight games

Barrow Raiders halfback Lewis Charnock has received an eight game ban for his tackle during his sides defeat to Sheffield Eagles at the Summer Bash.

Charnock had his case heard by the Disciplinary Panel last night after he was referred for the Grade F offence.

The Panel noted that he pleaded guilty and accepted responsibility for the tackle, which left Eagles forward James Glover out for nine months and needing knee reconstruction surgery.

In addition, the Raiders halfback was given a £250 fine.
