1895 Cup Round Two Review


Leigh Centurions 62-12 Workington Town- A hat trick for Greg McNally, two tries for Mitch Cox and individual efforts from Josh Eaves, James Bentley, Josh Woods, Brad Holroyd, Luke Douglas and Iain Thornley earned the convincing win for the Centurions. Town responded with tries from Sean Penkywicz and Carl Forber, but they are out of the competition.

Oldham 12-24 Doncaster- Tries from Matthew Chrimes, Watson Boas, Callum Ogden and Sam Doherty won the game for the Dons. Oldham responded through Adam Brook and Harry Maders but they fall at the second round.

Dewsbury Rams 44-26 Swinton Lions- Two tries for Rob Worrincy and Sam Day as well as individual efforts from Lucas Welshaw, Tobias Richardson, Kyle Trout and Lewis Heckford won the game for the Rams. The Lions responded with tries from Liam Byrne, Rhodri Lloyd, Jack Hansen, Billy Brickhill and Jack Wells, but the Lions must now focus on Championship survival.

York City Knights 30-16 Newcastle Thunder- Tries from Will Oakes, Kristian Brining, Junior Vaivai, Matty Marsh and Marcus Stock earned a convincing win for the Knights. The Thunder responded with tries from Evan Simons, Conor Fitzsimmons and Lewis Young, but they couldn’t get the upset.

Batley Bulldogs 38-18 Rochdale Hornets- Tries from James Brown, Lewis Galbraith, Jack Downs, Alistair Leak, Dominic Brambani, Dane Manning and Louis Jouffret earned the convincing win for Batley. The Hornets responded with tries from Zac Baker, Brandon Wood and Shaun Ainscough but their already difficult season has suffered another setback.
