London Skolars thrashed West Wales Raiders 51-6 at the New River Stadium to go back into second place in League One.
They were given a scare though after two minutes as the Raiders, winless for 18 months, took the lead as Ashley Batemen went in and scored. Phil Cowburn scored the conversion to put the Raiders ahead by six.
However, the Skolars responded by scoring 51 unanswered points.
They scored three tries in 11 minutes to lay their marker down before half time. Mike Greenhalgh, Jordan Williams and Craig Mullen all scored tries, which were converted by Neil Thorman to put the Skolars 12 points up at half time.
The second half saw the capital side run away with the game. Williams completed his hat trick, and there were further efforts from Elliot Jennings, Jymel Coleman, Liam Scott and Lameck Juma and a final drop goal for Thorman took the Skolars past 50 points.
That win for the Skolars takes them back into second place in League One after Hunslet were beaten by Doncaster on Friday night. They travel to Keighley Cougars next Saturday.
As for the Raiders, it may not have been a win, but they can take credit for their start and can use it as a platform to build. They welcome another high flying side in Hunslet next Saturday.
