Salford host Castleford hoping to crash playoff party

Salford Red Devils host Castleford Tigers at the AJ Bell Stadium, hoping to get a top five place from their opponents.

The Red Devils find themselves just two points behind Castleford in that final playoff spot after a 44-20 win against Wakefield Trinity on Sunday.

The visitors’ form has been mixed all season, and it was summed up last week after losing 31-18 at home to Hull FC, after being 14-4 up at half time.

Salford welcome new signing Ryan Lannon as well as Greg Johnson to replace Ben Nakubuwai and George Griffin, who are both out with injury.

As for the Tigers, they have made one change to their squad, with Chris Clarkson coming in for Will Maher.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm.

Key Battles

Niall Evalds vs. Peter Mata’uita- Two fullbacks who certainly have all the right elements to be a problem for a defence. The two players are also brilliant at transitioning between attack and defence and could be the difference for either side.

Its going to be a really close game, but I think Castleford will just edge it by four points.
