Wigan confirm Sarginson and Williams departures

Wigan Warriors have confirmed centre Dan Sarginson and half back George Williams will leave the club at the end of the season.

Sarginson has been linked with a move to Salford Red Devils while Williams is moving to an unnamed NRL club.

Centre Sarginson came through the academy of London Broncos before moving to Wigan following the Broncos’ financial difficulties in 2013.

He has had two spells at the Warriors, where overall he has made 119 appearances, scoring 36 tries. He also played for Gold Coast Titans in 2017.

Williams came through in 2013, making his first team mark in 2015 after the departure of Blake Green.

Since then, he has made 169 appearances, scoring 57 tries and 70 goals.

He has been heavily linked to a move to the NRL in recent years and it would seem he is taking his opportunity now. He is tipped to join up with England teammates John Bateman, Josh Hodgson and Elliott Whitehead at Canberra Raiders.
