On loan Sheffield Eagles player James Meadows has been given a four match ban after being referred to a tribunal after being charged with Foul and Abusive Language Questioning the integrity of a Match Official.

Meadows was given the charge after he was sent off in the latter stages of the Eagles’ defeat against Leigh Centurions a fortnight ago.

The panel accepted it was out of character and took into account Meadows’ previous clean record when handing out the punishment.

He has also been given a £250 fine.
