The Reserve Grade Competition will be resurrected for the 2020 season, after plenty of calls for it from fans and journalists alike.
There have been increasing calls for a return to this competition, after seeing many examples of players falling by the wayside because of there not being a middle step between U19s and the First Team.
The RFL have also announced the U19s Competition will revert to U18s.
The Super League clubs have agreed for all clubs in the league, and also those with a Category One Academy, i.e. Bradford Bulls and Widnes Vikings to also have a reserve side.
As well as that, the RFL have announced that they have received several applications from other Championship and League One clubs, with decisions to be made at the end of July.
