Betfred League One Review: West Wales win for first time

Newcastle Thunder 34-16 London Skolars- A hat trick for Matthew Wright, and other efforts from Michael Lewis, Nick Newman and Muizz Mustapha won the game for Thunder. The Skolars replied with tries from Omari Caro, Jerome Yates and Jordan Williams but it is another defeat.

West Wales Raiders 44-16 Coventry Bears- Two tries from Ash Bateman and Archie Snook and other efforts from Dalton Desmond-Walker, Morgan Evans, Mitchell Shaw and Steve Parry earned the Raiders a first ever win. The Bears responded with tries from Reece Rance, Errol Carter and Cobi Green, but they were well beaten on the day.

Sunday

North Wales Crusaders 0-30 Doncaster- Tries from Matty Chrimes, Kyle Kesik, Jason Tali, Connor Bower and Connor Scott earned the big win for the Dons.

Workington Town 52-4 Keighley Cougars- Tries from Declan O’Donnell, Jonathan Walsh, Fuifui Moimoi, Perry Singleton, Carl Forber, Tom Curwen, Gordon Maudling, Sam Hewitt and Scott Rooke earned the win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Cougars responded with a try from Jason Muranka, but they remain dangerously close to the bottom.
