Widnes Vikings Head Coach Kieron Purtill has put pen to paper on a new contract which will see him stay at the club until the end of next season.
Purtill was appointed ahead of the 2019 season, and has overseen a turbulent time for the Vikings with the club going through extreme financial difficulties at the start of the season.
He was at the forefront of the fundraising with the #SaveOurClub campaign, which allowed Widnes to carry on this season, at one stage there were fears they may not be able to field a squad.
On the pitch, he has kept Widnes afloat, despite a 12 point deduction for going into administration, which could have derailed their season, but Purtill has kept the club above water.
He will hoping to guide them to a first Wembley appearance since 1993 by beating Leigh Centurions in the 1895 Cup Semi Finals on Sunday.
