Blackbrook missed the chance to go joint top of NWML Division One after a 36-16 defeat at home to Halton Simms Cross.

That result means Brook are still two points behind Wigan St Cuthberts at the top of the division.

It was a great night for Halton though, as they rose up to fourth ahead of Haresfinch and Oldham St Annes A.

Blackbrook now have a month off before their next game as they welcome Ulverston to St Helens.

As for Simms Cross, they play again on August 17 when they welcome Oldham St Annes A.
