Hunslet claimed an important 32-10 win at Keighley Cougars to go third for now in League One.
Tries from Zac Braham, Jordan Andrade, Duane Straughier, Tom Ashton and Dale Bloomfield as well as three penalties from Jack Sanderson earned the win for the South Leeds side.
It means they temporarily go above Oldham into third place in the League One table, with the Manchester side playing second placed Newcastle Thunder tomorrow.
As for Keighley, they responded with tries from Jason Muranka and Davey Dixon, but they were well beaten on the day.
The Cougars remain second bottom, and could be cut further adrift from the rest of the table if results go against them on Sunday.
Hunslet return to action a week on Friday when they travel to London Skolars in a match that could be crucial for both teams playoff hopes.
As for the Cougars, it doesn’t get any easier for them as they welcome league leaders Whitehaven next Sunday.
On a further note, Keighley announced a statement in which they said ball boys and members of club staff were subject to verbal abuse from the terraces.
They urge anyone with information to contact the club.
