Eagles make history in North East Grand Final

Edinburgh Eagles became the first non English side to win the North East Mens League Grand Final after a 38-34 win over Jarrow Vikings.

The final was played at North Shields Rugby Club, and the fans were treated to an unbelievable final.

The two sides led the way for all of the regular season rounds, with the Vikings just pipping the Eagles to top spot.

But now in their debut season, the Eagles are champions of the North East Mens League.

As a result, the club are now in a great position to go into the Challenge Cup for next season and they will hope to avenge their defeat in the First Round to Normanton Knights back in January if that is the case.

As for the Vikings, it is another defeat for them after losing out in the final last year against Wallsend Eagles.
