Hunslet’s late show leaves Skolars’ playoff hopes in tatters

Hunslet scored a try right on full time to win a classic 34-30 against London Skolars in the capital.

Tries from Vila Halafihi, Tom Ashton, Adam Robinson, Mike Emmett, Callum Lancaster and Jay Potts’ late effort won the game for Hunslet to put them four points clear in fourth.

The Skolars responded with two tries from Jordan Williams and other efforts from Liam Scott, Jerome Yates and Richard Wilkinson, but they are four points behind the playoffs with one game left.

The South Leeds side will be hoping to consolidate that playoff place when they welcome Workington Town to the John Charles Centre for Sport next Sunday.

The Skolars now have a week off before they travel to take on North Wales Crusaders in the game which will bring the curtain down on their season.
