Clock Face Miners confirmed their survival in NCL Division Two in dramatic circumstances after a 16-16 draw at East Leeds.
The hosts needed a win and then hope the Miners lost against Shaw Cross Sharks next Saturday to stay up.
It was a close game, Clock scored first, but fell 12-4 behind midway through the first half. They did pull one back to trail 12-10.
But with an hour gone, Clock retook the lead with a converted try and to make it 16-12.
East Leeds made it nervy with less than ten minutes to go, but crucially, they missed the conversion that would take them back in front.
What that ultimately means is East Leeds will be playing in Division Three next season. It was a brave effort, but they fall short.
As for the Miners, it is a welcome relief for them as they manage to stay in Division Two for more than one season. They play their final game next week against already relegated Shaw Cross Sharks.
