Toulouse thrashed York City Knights in the first match of the 2019 Championship playoffs, winning 44-6.
The French side drew first blood as Mark Kheirallah scored a penalty after just three minutes.
That was followed by the first try just ten minutes later as Paul Marcon got in out wide. Kheirallah missed the conversion however.
But he soon made up for it, as he scored another two tries in just four minutes. He converted both efforts to bring the French out in front by 18 points.
The Knights needed to respond, and they did as Matt Chilton scored a second in two games. Connor Robinson converted to bring York back to within two converted scores.
But Toulouse struck a crucial blow right before half time as Gavin Marguerite managed to cross on the hooter. Kheirallah missed the conversion, but the French side had passed 20 points.
The second half then belonged to Toulouse as Anthony Marion, Mathieu Jussuame, Johnathan Ford and Stanislas Robin all crossed to seal a dominant performance.
That means the French side have booked their place in the qualifying final, where they will travel to Toronto Wolfpack in a true expansionist battle.
As for York, they will be disappointed with that result, but they are not out of contention yet, they will host the winners of the game between Leigh Centurions and Featherstone Rovers.
