Wright banned for four matches

Newcastle Thunder player Matthew Wright will miss the remainder of this season and a few games next season after being given a four match suspension for a high tackle.

Wright pleaded guilty to the tackle on Tom Halliday during the Thunder’s loss to Doncaster on Sunday.

How far Newcastle get into the playoffs will depend on how many matches Wright will miss at the start of next season.

Also, Stanislas Robin had his case heard for spitting, and he was found not guilty by the tribunal.
