No players have been banned this week by the Match Review Panel, after week one of the Super League playoffs.
Castleford Tigers prop Liam Watts was the only player who was charged for a trip, but he avoided a ban, meaning he is cleared to play in Thursdays game against Salford Red Devils.
Salford player Logan Tomkins was also given a caution for a trip.
One player who was being talked about for potential action was Tony Clubb. The panel looked at two incidents involving the Wigan Warriors prop and Salford’s Jackson Hastings, but no charges were brought.
In respect of the try, where Clubb landed a late shot on Hastings when he grounded the ball, the panel felt as though it was ‘worthy of an on field penalty’, meaning it potentially should have been an eight point try.
With regards to the second incident, where it was alleged Clubb had scratched Hastings’ eye in an off the ball clash, Salford did not provide any additional evidence and the video evidence they had was inconclusive.
