Championship and League One awards Roundup: Haven complete L1 sweep

The Championship and League One awards were hosted last night in Manchester.

Whitehaven picked up the most awards as their coach Gary Charlton was named Coach of the Year, while players Dion Aiye and Andrew Bulman were named Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year respectively.

Meanwhile, Keighley Cougars were named League One Club of the Year and Newcastle Thunder were named Club Foundation of the Year.

Moving into the Championship, it was York City Knights who picked up the most awards after James Ford won Coach of the Year and the club was named Championship Club of the Year.

Toronto Wolfpack’s Gareth O’Brien won Championship Player of the Year and Swinton Lions fullback Matthew Ashton, who will join Warrington in 2020, won Young Player of the Year.
