Swinton Lions have been placed in special measures by the RFL in the latest twist in their recent story.
It all started after the board passed a motion to the RFL to rename the club Manchester Lions, however, this was ill-received by the fans and the board all saw it as a vote of no confidence and they resigned.
Only Stephen Wild remains on the board, this was done to ensure the club did not enter administration.
And now, the RFL have decided to place the club under special measures, as a result of their increasing uncertainty at board level.
During this time, the club will not be able to sign any new players, and will not come out of the measure until they prove to the governing body that they have the necessary funds and can move forward in control of their own destiny.
