Ossett Trinity Tigers and Hull Wyke played out a thrilling 18-18 draw as both sides got their Autumn League campaigns underway.
It was a great start from Wyke as they went 12-0 up after just 19 minutes thanks to tries from Alec Hardie and Jordan Kinsley, both conversions were made by Conner Kirby.
Then after an almighty scrap saw three red cards dished out, the Tigers found their way back into it right before the break as Billy Aveyard managed to get over. Elliot Schofield missed the conversion, but the Tigers were on the board.
But there was time for the Hull based side to add their third try of the first half as Casey Hutchinson managed to break through and score. Kirby scored the conversion to put them ahead by 14 at the break.
However, three tries in 20 second half minutes levelled the scores as Brandon Bates, Ash Berry and Ryan Dudley. However, Schofield was only able to score one of the conversions, meaning the scores were level.
That result means both sides draw to start their campaigns, there is plenty for both sides to take going forward, and plenty to work on.
The Tigers will be at home again next week as they welcome Siddal Academy, while Hull Wyke travel to Dewsbury Moor Maroons.
