Rhinos fined over salary cap breach
Leeds Rhinos have been fined £20,000, half of it suspended, by the RFL in relation to a salary cap breach back in 2018.
It is alleged the club failed to declare around £55,000 worth of salary cap payments to three players in an audit of their 2018 finances.
The club was found to have committed four separate breaches over the course of the season. They have accepted lability and their subsequent punishment.
However, the club has not been given a points deduction, despite Wigan being given one for a similar offence before the start of last season.
It is believed that this was talked about, but the governing body have decided to only enact points deductions if the breach was over five per cent or deliberate.
