Kells claim treble after comeback win against Aspatria

Posted by

Kells have completed a treble this season after adding the Iggesund Cumberland Division One top four title to their League Leaders crown and the Division Cup after beating Aspatria Hornets 37-18.

However, the league leaders did not have it all their own way, as the Hornets were ahead 18-6 at the break, but a strong second half from Kells saw them take the crown.

It was the last game of a fantastic season for the Red and Whites, who won all three trophies on offer to them this season, it will be interesting to see if they can keep up this standard next season.

As for the Hornets, it was a disappointing defeat, especially after being in such a strong position at half time. There is definitely the base of something strong there and it will be interesting to see how they fare in 2020.
