Ireland have qualified for the Rugby League World Cup in 2021 without playing a game.
A 34-4 defeat for Spain against Italy means neither side cannot now be caught in the race to qualify for Rugby League’s showpiece event in 2021.
Both Ireland and Italy are through now as the pair face off against each other in Dublin next Saturday.
The pair join Scotland, who qualified last night after a win against Greece in London. The final spot from these groups will be a straight shootout between Greece and Serbia.
