Forward Sam Luckley has signed a new deal to stay at Newcastle Thunder for the 2020 season.
Luckley has made 78 appearances for the Thunder during his time in the North East, and is also a Scotland international.
“I’m very happy to sign another year with the club, although we only just missed out on promotion I feel the club is headed in the right direction and I will do all I can to help get Thunder into the position it deserves to be,” Luckley told the Thunder website.
Newcastle head coach Simon Finnigan added: “Sam was one of our most consistent performers last year and was very good for me throughout. He still has areas where he is a work in progress but he has an appetite to learn.
“He is good for the group and is a local boy as well playing every week in the first team and I was really excited when he decided to stay. I’m looking forward to getting him into pre-season of the back of a good autumn for Scotland.”
