Salford Red Devils halfback has been nominated for the iconic Golden Boot award alongside St Helens star Kevin Naiqama and Brit Down Under John Bateman.
Lolohea had started the season at Leeds Rhinos, but was deemed surplus to requirements halfway through the season and joined the Red Devils, and helped them to a first Super League Grand Final.
He has taken his form onto the international stage, playing a part in Tonga’s win over Great Britain, and then their historic victory over Australia.
Fijian centre Naiqama signed for the Saints ahead of the 2019 season from Wests Tigers and became an integral part of their three-quarter line this season, as they claimed the League Leaders Shield and the Super League Grand Final.
While Bateman has been a revolution in Australia. He joined Canberra Raiders from Wigan Warriors and had a fantastic debut season, playing his part in the Raiders’ making their first NRL Grand Final for a number of years. And he was voted the best signing of any club in 2019.
Also up for the award are Tongan Sio Siua Taukeiaho, Kiwi duo Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Fijian pair Viliame Kikau and Brandon Wakeman and Australians Damian Cook and Payne Haas.
