Halifax have confirmed the signing of hooker Keal Carlile from Newcastle Thunder for the 2020 season.
The 29-year-old has experience at many levels including the Super League with Hull KR, and the Championship with Featherstone Rovers and Sheffield Eagles.
Carlile told the club website: “I’m delighted to have signed for Fax, it’s all come about so quickly but as soon as I spoke to Simon, I believed in his plans and how the club is looking to moving forward.
“There seems to be a definite buzz around the place and I can’t wait to get started now and have a big 2020.”
Head Coach Simon Grix added: “Keal is an experienced 9 with the ability to bring players onto the ball and generate speed at the play the ball.
“He is obviously coming here primarily to compete for a spot in the team every week. Second to that and no less important, I have no doubt he can bring on the nous of both Brandon (Moore) and Curt (Davies) as they continue to develop.
“Between them we hope to have healthy competition.”
