Castleford Tigers centre Michael Shenton has announced a testimonial match against Toronto Wolfpack.
The match will be on Sunday 19th January at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle with a 2pm kick off.
Shenton has been granted a testimonial for the 2020 season, as he celebrates a 15-year career in the game.
He came through the Tigers academy system in 2004, and ended up helping them get back to the Super League several times.
Shenton then moved to St Helens ahead of the 2010 season, and played in two Super League Grand Finals, before returning to Castleford in 2013.
Since returning, he has made over 150 appearances for the Tigers, scoring 57 tries.
He also captained the side in the 2014 Challenge Cup Final and the 2017 Super League Grand Final.
Shenton told the club website: “I wanted to start by saying thank you to everybody who’s helped out so far with my testimonial. It’s only being released now but there’s been a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes to get this done.
“It’s been an honour for me to represent the club in the role that I have done. It’s developed me as a player and as a person and I absolutely love the place to bits and the boys we’ve got here.
“I’m really excited for the Toronto game, they bring a lot of excitement and expectation with them, so I hope the fans will come down to support me and the rest of the boys, and see what Toronto are about.
