Rochdale Hornets have confirmed the signing of Sean Penkywicz from Workington Town and the re-signing of Seta Tala.
37-year-old Penkywicz has 350 appearances to his name with a variety of clubs, including Huddersfield Giants in the Super League.
He told the club website: “I am looking forward to a new challenge.”
“To work with Matt Calland again was a major draw. Having worked with him before, I know he’ll be working hard to put out a competitive team.
On the signing, Calland added: “Sean is a class player with a wealth of experience having played over 350 professional games.
“I am really looking forward to working with him again. He is a real character and a match winner.”
Meanwhile, Tala extends his stay after signing in the middle 0f 2018 from Rochdale Mayfield.
He was restricted to just seven games in 2019 because of injury.
“I am looking forward to another season with the Hornets.
“After sustaining injuries in 2019, I felt like I needed to come back and prove a point and play my best rugby yet, especially with some familiar faces around.”
Calland added: “I’m really pleased that Seta has re-signed with the club.
“I’ve known him for a while now and he’s a Fijian and that has always been a great tradition of the club.
“He was struck with injury last year, so hopefully he will have a big year in 2020. At the age of 28, he could be a big leader for the group going forward next season and I’m looking forward to working with him again.”
