Former Wales star Scott Bessant has died at the age of 37, just three years after a life-changing accident.
Bessant started his rugby league career at Newport Titans, where he led them to the Grand Final.
He then signed for Torfaen Tigers after he was unable to attend a trial with Celtic Crusaders.
In 2017, he was found unconscious. He had suffered fractures to his skull, a fractured neck, and fractured pelvis. He has also had multiple strokes since, leaving him permanently brain damaged, and living in a care home.
Earlier this year, he had a scare, when it was thought he contracted COVID-19.
Last week, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and sadly passed away this morning.
