Whitehaven keep Scottish international

Whitehaven have confirmed forward Brett Phillips has signed a new deal for the 2021 season.

The former Seaton Rangers amateur joined Haven for the 2019 season having had a year out of rugby league.

He made his debut for Whitehaven at home to Keighley Cougars on the 17th February 2019. He has made twenty two appearances since signing, scoring four tries.

Phillips said after signing his one year deal, “I’m happy to sign for another year at Whitehaven. The squad looks to be taking shape nicely and I’m excited to get back to training.”

Assistant Coach, Jonty Gorley, said of Phillips signing, “It’s great to have Brett on board again for next season. He brings a wealth of experience, having played in the Championship previously and also at International level with Scotland.

“Brett is a leader, talks well and someone who helps steady us on the pitch. Add to that his size, and how he plays the game, Brett is a massive asset for us.”
