Leeds Rhinos have announced that winger Tom Briscoe has agreed a new two year contract with the club until the end of the 2022 season.
The former England international joined the Rhinos in 2014 from Hull FC and has overcome an ACL injury this season to return to action in the Betfred Super League.
He has made 161 appearances for Leeds, scoring 81 tries in the process including a crucial one against Wigan in the Coral Challenge Cup semi final.
Commenting on his new deal Briscoe said, “I am really pleased to have my future sorted, especially in these uncertain times for so many.
“I am happy with my form since coming back into the team and it is an exciting time to be part of the squad. We have seen the young lads come through this season; I enjoy working with them and it brings the best out of me.
“We have got real competition now for the outside backs position and that is forcing everyone to be their very best in every training session. I think it is great for them and great for the team that they bring that enthusiasm into the camp.”
Leeds Rhinos Director of Rugby Kevin Sinfield commented, “We are pleased to have agreed a new deal with Tom.
“He is one of our most experienced players and is a key senior member of our group. He has been great with our young players this season since we returned from lockdown.
“He has led by example with his own form especially after the hard work and commitment he showed to get back from a serious knee injury last year.”
