Dewsbury Rams have confirmed the signing of Jamie Abram from Salford Red Devils for the 2021 season.
Abram is a former Warrington Wolves U19s player, before joining Salford’s reserve side ahead of the 2020 season. He also played for North West Men’s League side Latchford Giants.
Rams head coach Lee Greenwood said: “Jamie could be a real find for us. At the moment he covers 9, half and fullback equally well and this utility value should give him a good opportunity of getting onto the field.
“He comes from a strong Rugby League family which means he knows the game and knows what it takes to be successful.
“This is without doubt a step up for him but he certainly has the capabilities to make his mark at Dewsbury and in the Championship.
“Jamie found himself a victim of the loss of reserve Rugby next season. There are a lot of quality young players without clubs that aren’t quite ready to play Super League regularly but are too old for Academies.
“I didn’t want to see Jamie have to give up professional Rugby when he has so much to offer.”
