One in, one out at Dewsbury

Dewsbury Rams have announced the signing of fullback/halfback Reece Chapman-Smith for the 2021 season.

Chapman-Smith has plenty of Championship experience having played for fellow division side Halifax.

The 22 year old had a good learning curve as a young player as he has come up through the ranks at Super League side Leeds Rhinos.

On signing Chapman-Smith head coach Lee Greenwood said: “I rate Reece highly and when we saw he was available we moved quickly to get him.

“He will provide good competition at full back for us but can play anywhere in the back positions. He seems to play well in any game I’ve watched him in, including against us last year for Halifax.

“I spoke to him about joining us when he left Leeds a couple of years ago so he is someone I have followed for a while.”

Meanwhile, the club have confirmed the departure of Sam Moorhouse.

Moorhouse signed for the club ahead of the 2020 season from Leeds Rhinos. He only played one senior match this year for Coventry Bears in the Challenge Cup against Newcastle Thunder.
