Robins add Sims for 2021

Hull KR have announced the signing of NRL prop forward, Korbin Sims on a two-year contract, subject to visa.

The former Brisbane Broncos, Newcastle Knights and St. George star who went on to appear over 140 times in the NRL, will be making the move to Hull’s East Coast in the new year..

Reacting to the news, he said: “I’m very excited about the opportunity that has presented itself for me and my family. I’m excited about the chance to get over to England – I’ve only been there once with Fiji in the RLWC 2013, so the next two years are going to be really interesting.

“When my manger had told me that there had been some interest from England and Rovers, I was a bit taken aback at first, but when I really thought about it, I saw it as a great opportunity to further my football career.

“The way he was speaking about myself and the other people coming over, the people that he’s already got, and the way Hull KR are moving forward into the future, makes me feel it’s going to be an exciting time to build this proud club.

“I’m looking forward to getting over there and meeting everyone as soon as possible.”

Head Coach Tony Smith added: “He’s an important part of the jigsaw, we have been keen to strengthen our forward pack and we are certainly doing that with Korbin.

“He brings international as well as NRL experience. He’s a guy that gives everything every time he walks onto the pitch. He’s very professional in his approach to his game and he is always looking to develop.

“He’s so enthusiastic about coming here and doing a good job for the club. He’s wholehearted and tough, he’s going to give it his all, so I’m really excited about him – he’s an excitable character and I think he’ll develop into a fans favourite.”
